John Darrell Snyder, Hutchinson, died January 13, 2015, at a nursing home in Wichita.  He was 73.  A memorial service was held for John at the Medorah Community Bible Church in Medorah on January 27, 2015.  The Veterans Administration also provided a memorial remembrance for John.

John was born November 3, 1941, in Plains, Kansas, to Dorothy Naomi Trefethlen and the Reverend William Riley Snyder, Jr.

He graduated from McPherson High School in 1960.  John immediately joined the US Navy and served until December, 1961.

In 1964 he married Carol Coffman of Ulysses, Kansas.  They divorced, and in 1975 John married Delores “Dee” Elaine Conley from Red Oak, Iowa.  They were married in Hutchinson.

Most of his career was spent as a long haul semi-truck driver.  In 1990 he was seriously injured when his truck overturned in a tornado in the Hutchinson area.

John was a member of the Medorah Community Bible Church.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Delores, and sister Lometta Swanson who was also a member of the McPherson High School class of 1960.

He was survived by nine children;  Steven Snyder and Dorothy Jean Forbes of Wichita, Tammi Rae Sallee, Sherry Lynne Chapman, Shawn William Snyder, and Jon Paul Snyder, all of Hutchinson, Donna Lynn Hutchison of Belle Plaine, KS, Toby Dean Snyder of McPherson, and Jacop Andrew Snyder of Haysville, KS.

Survivors also include sisters Constance Blake of McPherson and Janice Martin of Hutchinson, and brother James Snyder of Hutchinson, plus many grand children and great grand children.
