Ronald (Ron) Vaughn

Ronald J Vaughn (1941-2014) passed away on Monday, May 19,2014 at his home in Eugene, Oregon. He was born in Wichita Kansas to Robert & Wanda Engleman Vaughn on May 27,1941.  He married Karen Prevo from Mcpherson, later divorcing.  On August 28,1971, after teaching Industrial Arts in Cudahy, WI and Misawa, Japan, he married Anna ( Ann)  Miller of Wisconsin in Berkely, California. With his son, Ronald Harry, the family lived in California, Wisconsin and Texas and eventually settled in Oregon. Together they shared many adventures and created life long memories. After retiring , Ron and Ann enjoyed spending time in and around the Oregon area, and traveling throughout the US, Hawaii and Europe. Ron taught Industrial Arts in Dublin, CA for two years before moving to Menomonie, WI and earnign a Masters Degree at University of Wisconsin-Stout. The family then moved to Houston, TX, where he worked at Texas Institute for Rehabilitation and Research for three years. Arrving in Oregon in 1976 the family spent the first two years in Beaverton where Ron worked as a vocational counselor for Goodwill Industries in Portland. The final move for the family was to Eugene where Ron and Ann have lived for the past 36 years. For several years he was Director of( Rehab and Personnel at Goodwill Ind of Lane Co in Eugene. He later taught at Butte Falls High School in Butte Falls, OR and retired in 1998. An avid reader of history, Ron also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and tinkering in his garage . In his younger years he enjoyed scuba diving and white water kayaking. Ron is survived by his wife of 43 years, Anna (Ann) Vaughn, his son Ronald Harry Vaughn of San Antonio TX, 2 granddaughters and 3 great-grandchildren. The family has held a private memorial and will hold an additional memorial in Plymouth, Wisconsin at a future .  Published in Eugene Register-Guard on June 1, 2014.
